The vehicle is identified as a true factory X66 SS 396 model, one of the more desirable configurations from the Camaro’s first generation. Finished in its original Hugger Orange color, the coupe retains key factory features including cowl induction, a tachometer, and console-mounted gauges, all of which were hallmarks of high-performance Camaros from the era.
Under the hood, the car is powered by a period-correct 396 cubic-inch V8 engine, identified by casting number 3955272. The engine has undergone a recent rebuild, incorporating modern components designed to improve reliability and performance. Updates include a roller camshaft, roller tip rocker arms, and a performance ignition system featuring an MSD distributor, ignition box, and coil. Stainless steel headers and a Magnaflow exhaust system have also been added to enhance airflow and deliver a more aggressive exhaust note.
Beyond the engine, the Camaro has been upgraded with several chassis and suspension improvements aimed at refining handling. These include custom frame connectors, upgraded sway bars, and adjustable front coilover shocks. A Tremec five-speed manual transmission replaces the original gearbox, paired with a performance clutch and hydraulic release system, offering a more engaging driving experience.
The rear end features a 12-bolt multi-leaf setup, while braking performance has been improved with four-wheel power disc brakes. The car rides on newly installed chrome wheels, measuring 18 inches in the front and 20 inches in the rear, fitted with fresh tires to match its updated stance.
