A modified 1965 Chevrolet C10 Stepside pickup is drawing early interest at auction in Texas, showcasing a blend of classic truck design and modern mechanical upgrades. With bidding currently at $4,500, the vehicle is scheduled to close on April 20 and has already attracted hundreds of views.
Located in Round Rock, the truck represents the growing popularity of restomod builds, where vintage vehicles are updated with contemporary components while retaining their original character. The first-generation C10 is widely regarded as a strong platform for such projects, thanks to its straightforward engineering and adaptability.
This particular example has undergone a multi-year overhaul completed in 2025. Originally acquired in 2021 from a family that had owned the truck since new, the vehicle has transitioned from a largely original survivor into a modernized driver. It is now powered by a fuel-injected 5.3-liter V8 engine, paired with a four-speed automatic transmission, replacing its factory drivetrain with a more contemporary setup.
Mechanical updates extend beyond the engine swap. The truck has been fitted with power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering and upgraded front disc brakes, improving handling and stopping capability. A modified suspension system featuring airbags and a notched frame allows for adjustable ride height, with supporting components housed within the truck bed.
Visually, the C10 maintains a weathered appearance, with faded teal paint and visible signs of age, including chipped surfaces and corrosion in exposed areas. The exterior retains classic elements such as 15-inch steel wheels, a Stepside bed, and an embossed tailgate. Inside, the cabin features a bench seat and teal carpeting, though wear is evident in the upholstery and interior trim.
