One of only 23 built, this award-winning Lamborghini 400 GT Interim will cross the block at Broad Arrow’s 2025 auction.
A remarkably rare and beautifully restored 1966 Lamborghini 400 GT “Interim” will cross the auction block during Broad Arrow Auctions’ Monterey Jet Center sale this August. Estimated to sell between $450,000 and $550,000, this exceptional Gran Turismo represents one of only 23 “Interim” models ever produced—an important transitional piece in Lamborghini’s early history.

Chassis no. 0526, with matching engine no. 0514, showcases the refinement and power Ferruccio Lamborghini sought in his challenge to Ferrari. Built before the full shift to the four-seat 400 GT 2+2, the “Interim” cars blended the sleek 350 GT body—produced by Carrozzeria Touring—with the upgraded 4.0-liter V12 and Lamborghini’s in-house five-speed gearbox.

Finished from the factory in Grigio Arpeuta over black leather, this example now wears Grigio Medio (Medium Grey) over a striking red leather interior following a meticulous restoration by Classic European Restorations of Oceanside, California. That process, completed in 2001, included a full mechanical overhaul and more than $114,000 in restoration investment.
Documented with Lamborghini Polo Storico certification, the car has achieved significant concours success. It earned a Best in Show award at the 2011 Classic-Gala Schwetzingen and a Mention of Honor at the prestigious Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este that same year. A longtime resident of premier collections, including the Jim Patterson Collection and the Klima Lounge Museo, it has been carefully preserved under its current ownership since 2016.

Built for the U.S. market and delivered new to Bob Estes in California, this 400 GT Interim combines historical importance, exquisite craftsmanship, and rarity—offering collectors a rare chance to own a milestone in Lamborghini’s evolution.
The car will be on display and available for bidding at Broad Arrow’s signature Monterey Jet Center auction during Monterey Car Week 2025. See it here.
