Broad Arrow will auction RUF’s one-off “Goldfinger” Porsche 911, a $400K Lime Gold masterpiece, at Monterey 2025.
A stunning one-off 1987 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.4, reimagined by RUF Automobile and nicknamed “Goldfinger,” is set to cross the block at Broad Arrow Auctions’ Monterey Jet Center 2025 sale on August 14. Estimated between $850,000 and $1.1 million, the bespoke coupe stands as a rolling tribute to RUF’s reputation for precision engineering and Porsche performance heritage.

Commissioned in 2018 at a cost of nearly €400,000, the project transformed a U.S.-market 1987 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe into a RUF-engineered masterpiece.

The car’s air-cooled flat-six was enlarged from 3.2 to 3.4 liters, delivering 270 horsepower, and paired with a G50 five-speed transmission and upgraded clutch. The suspension was fitted with RUF-tuned dampers, while CTR-spec drilled and ventilated brakes ensure race-level stopping power.

The bodywork draws heavy inspiration from Porsche’s 1974 3.0 RSR, enhanced with RUF craftsmanship. The car’s RSR-style fenders were retained, but rain gutters were shaved for a cleaner profile, and a retractable 964-style spoiler replaced the traditional “whale tail.” Its most striking visual feature is its 991-generation Lime Gold Metallic paint, which earned it the “Goldfinger” nickname, a nod to both the James Bond villain and its golden hue.
Inside, the bespoke cabin blends retro aesthetics with modern refinements. Carbon-fiber bucket seats are wrapped in buffalo dark brown leather and Pepita Houndstooth inserts, while gold-thread stitching and an Alcantara headliner continue the metallic theme. A retro-styled RUF infotainment system with navigation and Bluetooth connectivity brings modern convenience, along with upgraded heating and air conditioning.

Originally delivered new in Grand Prix White to Texas in 1987, the car passed through several U.S. states before being exported to Europe in 2013. After its extensive RUF conversion, it has logged fewer than 5,000 kilometers.
For collectors, Goldfinger offers more than rarity—it’s a fully engineered RUF creation combining the purity of classic 911 driving with modern performance and comfort. See it here.
