No-Reserve 1969 Chevrolet Corvette 427 L88 Tribute Convertible Offered on Hagerty Marketplace

Street-ready L88 tribute Corvette hits Hagerty Marketplace with 563 horsepower and a Tremec five-speed, offered without reserve.

A purpose-built, big-block street machine inspired by Chevrolet’s legendary L88 Corvette is now available without reserve on Hagerty Marketplace. This 1969 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible 427 L88 Tribute captures the spirit of one of the most ferocious factory-built Corvettes ever produced—while offering the drivability and comfort today’s enthusiasts demand.

Only 216 factory L88 Corvettes were produced between 1967 and 1969, making originals incredibly rare and expensive. This tribute version began life as a 427-powered convertible, but after a bearing failure led to a rebuild, the owner discovered it housed a desirable GM 3935439 block. That discovery prompted a complete performance overhaul, creating a modernized, streetable L88-style powertrain.

Now pushing a dyno-tested 563 horsepower and 593 lb-ft of torque, the custom-built 427 uses high-performance internals including a forged Scat crank and rods, SRP pistons with 10.3:1 compression, a Lunati hydraulic roller camshaft, and GM Performance aluminum heads. Fuel delivery is handled by a Holley 850 CFM double-pumper sitting atop a GM Performance high-rise intake.

Power reaches the pavement through a Tremec five-speed manual transmission with a heavy-duty McLeod clutch and Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes. A Derale oil cooler, MSD ignition, headers, and dual exhaust round out the mechanical upgrades. The car retains its original convertible layout and includes both a hard top and new cloth soft top.

The exterior remains in primer, with the consignor opting to enjoy the Corvette in "rat rod" form rather than restore it cosmetically. Minor bodywork needs remain, but the interior has been refreshed with new seat covers, racing harnesses, and Dakota Digital-style instrumentation.

Offered with full engine build documentation and less than 250 miles on the new drivetrain, this no-reserve Corvette gives collectors a chance to own a beastly yet street-friendly tribute to one of Chevy’s greatest hits—without breaking the bank. See it here.
