The vehicle represents a limited-production model created to commemorate the Fiero’s role as the pace car for the 1984 Indianapolis 500. That year marked a milestone, as the Fiero became the first mid-engine car to pace the race and the first four-cylinder vehicle to do so in decades. To celebrate the occasion, Pontiac produced 2,000 replica models, each featuring distinctive styling and design elements tied to the event.
This particular example stands out with just over 15,000 miles recorded, making it one of the lower-mileage survivors among the limited run. It retains its original factory paint, finished in white with a contrasting gray lower body and red pinstriping, consistent with the pace car theme.
