Two standout vehicles from Dr. Jerry Petty’s estate—a 1937 Packard Coupe and 1973 Jaguar XKE—headline his no-reserve GAA auction collection.
Dr. Jerry Petty’s legacy extends far beyond medicine. Known as a pioneering neurosurgeon who helped shape modern concussion protocols for NASCAR and the Carolina Panthers, Dr. Petty was also a lifelong athlete and car enthusiast. Now, his personal automotive collection—offered entirely at no reserve—will cross the block at the GAA Classic Cars Auction in November 2025.

Among the highlights is a 1937 Packard Coupe, a vintage beauty that combines timeless design with modern performance. Beneath its elegant blue exterior lies a naturally aspirated LS1 5.7L V8 engine, producing 350 horsepower and 365 lb-ft of torque. Power is delivered through a 4-speed 4L60 automatic transmission and a Ford 9-inch rear differential, ensuring smooth, confident driving. The car rides on whitewall tires with chrome front and rear bumpers, while the brown leather interior and wood grain steering wheel add a luxurious, hand-crafted touch. Subtle custom details—like the leather-finished trunk lining, yellow-tinted fog lights, and blue soft top convertible roof—give this restomod Packard a striking presence that bridges eras of automotive craftsmanship.

Also part of the Petty collection is a 1973 Jaguar XKE, finished in British Racing Green with a brown interior. Powered by a 5.3-liter V12 producing 272 horsepower, this E-Type represents one of the last and most refined evolutions of Jaguar’s legendary sports car. It features a 3-speed automatic transmission, factory air conditioning, chrome wire wheels, and both a soft top and matching hardtop. Inside, front bucket seats, a wood-grain steering wheel, and a cassette player complete the period-correct atmosphere.
Offered together with other examples from Dr. Petty’s private collection, these vehicles reflect his passion for mechanical excellence and timeless design. For collectors, they offer more than rarity—they represent a window into the life of a man who devoted his career to improving others while living his own with spirit and precision.
