A heavily modified 1960 Chevrolet Bel Air Kingswood station wagon is drawing attention at auction, where bidding has reached $20,000 with more than a week remaining before the sale closes.

Listed by RK Motors in Charlotte, North Carolina, the custom wagon represents the final model year of Chevrolet’s second-generation full-size platform. Known for their long-wheelbase proportions and distinctive styling, 1960 Bel Air wagons have become popular foundations for custom builds. This example takes that reputation to an extreme, featuring extensive mechanical and cosmetic modifications throughout.

Built by members of the Locos Banditos custom car collective, the wagon showcases metallic green and purple paintwork with hand-laid flames and detailed pinstriping. The custom finish was completed by Kyle Gann of K-Daddyz Kustomz along with Ron Beam of Beam Brothers Creative Paint & Pinstriping. Exterior modifications include shaved door handles, a smoothed and pinstriped firewall, and 15-inch Rocket Racing aluminum wheels wrapped in wide-whitewall radial tires. The vehicle is not equipped with exterior door handles or locks.

Under the hood sits a custom-built 409-cubic-inch V8 fitted with Edelbrock Performer aluminum cylinder heads, a dual-quad intake manifold and twin four-barrel carburetors. Additional upgrades include ceramic-coated headers, Offenhauser aluminum valve covers, and a Be Cool aluminum radiator with an electric cooling fan. Power is routed through a Turbo Hydra-Matic 400 automatic transmission.

The wagon rides on an AccuAir air suspension system supported by a polished air tank and dual chrome compressors. It also features four-wheel power disc brakes, a power rack-and-pinion steering conversion, CPP tubular front control arms, and a custom four-link rear suspension with a Watts link.

Inside, the cabin has been reupholstered with white bench seats and purple accents, complemented by a pinstriped dashboard, aftermarket gauges, a tilt steering column and an Alpine Bluetooth audio system with dual amplified subwoofers. The accelerator pedal is fashioned from a Ludwig drum pedal.

The odometer is inoperable and shows 2,100 miles marked as true mileage unknown. The seller notes minor blemishes, including some chrome imperfections, paint chips and bubbling along lower door edges, light engine fluid seepage and a voltage gauge that reads lower than the actual charging output.
