Concours-Winning 1956 Austin-Healey 100M Factory Model Offered After No-Expense-Spared Restoration

SEMA hails Congress for ending federal EV mandates, calling it a win for automotive freedom, ICE vehicles, and industry innovation.

One of the rarest and most painstakingly restored Austin-Healeys in the United States—a 1956 Austin-Healey 100M Factory Le Mans—has been listed for sale by Sunnyside Chevrolet in partnership with Greg’s Sports, Classic & Muscle Cars. The car, judged Concours Gold in its first showing, is backed by over $160,000 in restoration receipts and decades of dedicated ownership.

This 100M is one of just 640 factory-built “M” models, designed to bring race-ready upgrades directly from the Austin-Healey factory floor. According to the Bill Meade Factory M Registry, only around 200 original examples are believed to survive today. This particular car, finished in its original color combination of black over red with red interior, is documented with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate confirming its matching-numbers status and correct factory build.

The car underwent a comprehensive, ground-up restoration guided by respected Healey experts Darryl Wagner of Automotive Artistry and Gary Feldman, past president of the Austin Healey Club of America and a longtime concours judge. Over a two-year process, every component—down to the smallest fastener—was restored or sympathetically preserved to original specification.

“Shortcuts were never an option,” said co-owner Greg of Sunnyside Chevrolet. “From metal-repairing the original floors rather than replacing them to resisting the urge to over-restore, every decision was made with historical accuracy in mind.”

The Healey made its concours debut with Gold honors, even as judges deducted points for minor details—like overly polished bumper overriders and an uncoated rear axle. “We lost points for being too meticulous,” Greg joked.

With hundreds of restoration photos and supporting documentation, this 100M is ready for any concours lawn, collector display, or vintage driving event. A rare chance to own a museum-grade British sports car, it combines beauty, authenticity, and performance with an unrivaled pedigree.
