This silver 1962 Chevrolet Biscayne Street Rod features a 502 V8 and less than 5,000 miles since its full build.
A heavily modified 1962 Chevrolet Biscayne Two-Door Sedan has surfaced on Hagerty Marketplace, showcasing a street rod build that blends vintage styling with serious modern muscle under the hood. With just 4,942 miles driven since completion, this restomod delivers big performance wrapped in classic, understated sheet metal.

Originally introduced as Chevrolet’s budget-conscious full-size model in 1958, the Biscayne gained a reputation for reliability and simplicity. The two-door “post” sedan, popular with racers for its lighter weight and solid body structure, provided a blank canvas for high-performance builds — like this one.

At its heart is a fuel-injected 502 cubic-inch Ram Jet V8 paired with a 700R4 Stage III automatic transmission, purpose-built to handle over 600 horsepower and more than 500 lb-ft of torque. A Ford nine-inch rear differential and Griffin aluminum radiator support the drivetrain, while dual exhaust, power steering, and an HD cooling system round out the upgrades.

Visually, the car has been transformed with silver paint and black racing stripes, complemented by Rocket mag wheels wrapped in Mickey Thompson 26x10.00R15LT tires. Blacked-out bumpers and a custom two-tone California interior add modern flair inside, where bucket seats, a roll cage, Sport Comp gauges, and an 8000 rpm tachometer underline the car’s racing spirit. A modern AM/FM/CD stereo and padded dash finish the cabin.

Built in Tarrytown, New York, this example retains its original Fisher body plate and chassis number, now paired with custom California styling touches and a “USA-1” vanity plate. Minor imperfections include adjustment needs for doors and trunk, and the air conditioning may require a recharge.

Owned by a Colorado-based enthusiast since 2015, the seller notes the car was “built to run on the street or strip” and remains a standout at both shows and cruise nights. See it here.
