306-Mile 1984 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 Preserved Like New Heads to Auction

With just 306 miles, this untouched 1984 Camaro Z28 offers collectors a near-showroom example of Chevrolet’s third-generation icon.

When Chevrolet introduced the third-generation Camaro in 1982, it reshaped the brand’s pony car with a lighter body, sharper design, and a forward-looking hatchback profile. By 1984, the Camaro Z28 stood as the flagship performance model, boasting the High Output 5.0-liter V8 paired with new technology like a four-speed automatic with overdrive.

One especially well-preserved example is now crossing the block at Raleigh Classic Car Auctions. This 1984 Camaro Z28 shows just 306 miles from new, making it one of the most untouched survivors of its kind. Offered without reserve, the black-over-Light Sand Gray coupe remains in highly original condition, with its presentation almost identical to when it left Matway Chevrolet in Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania, four decades ago.

Under the hood lies the L69 High Output 305-cubic-inch V8, fed by a Rochester Quadrajet four-barrel carburetor and backed by a four-speed automatic transmission. From the factory, the car was optioned with air conditioning, cruise control, tilt steering, an AM/FM stereo with cassette, Soft-Ray tinted glass, power hatch release, and custom interior trim. It also carries the distinctive Z28 striping package and five-spoke alloy wheels, now fitted with new tires for drivability.

Documentation includes a copy of the original build sheet and a clean CARFAX Vehicle History Report verifying its exceptionally low mileage. The car’s history shows residence in Pennsylvania, Arizona, California, and Iowa before entering The Raleigh Classic Collection in 2024.

For collectors, third-generation Camaros with delivery-mileage preservation are virtually impossible to find outside of museums or private collections. This Z28 represents a rare chance to own a showroom-fresh example of Chevrolet’s 1980s performance icon, offered with no reserve. See it here.
