A late-production 1973 Ferrari Dino 246 GTS is gaining renewed attention among collectors, highlighting its rare specifications, well-documented Italian history and carefully preserved condition.

Chassis 06354 represents an “E-series” example completed in May 1973 and originally delivered in Milan. Finished in the uncommon Bianco Polo exterior over a Nero interior, the car stands out among Dino models for its distinctive factory color combination. It is one of 1,282 Dino GTS units produced and among a smaller group of left-hand-drive examples delivered to the European market.
The car began its life along Lake Como under its first owner, remaining in Italy throughout its history. Over the years, it passed through several owners, with documented transfers recorded in official Italian archives. A key figure in its long-term stewardship was a Reggio Emilia-based mechanic and dealer, whose family retained the vehicle for decades until 2022. Supporting documentation compiled by a recognized Dino historian confirms the continuity of its ownership within Italy, adding to its authenticity and appeal.

When acquired by its current owner in 2022, the Dino was described as highly original, showing approximately 68,000 kilometers. Prior to restoration, the vehicle underwent inspection by a marque expert who verified that its chassis, engine and transmission corresponded with factory records. The subsequent work focused on preservation rather than full replacement, maintaining original finishes and components wherever possible.

Mechanical systems were refreshed through detailed processes designed to retain factory characteristics, including cleaning techniques that preserved original markings. Key components such as brakes, clutch and suspension were rebuilt or refurbished, while essential systems including cooling, electrical and fuel delivery were updated. The exterior was refinished in its original Bianco Polo color, while the interior remained largely untouched aside from minor updates.
Since completion, the car has been driven approximately 3,000 kilometers and has appeared at notable events, including multiple editions of a historic Italian rally and a prominent Ferrari gathering in Modena, where it earned a distinguished award.

Now showing just over 71,000 kilometers, the Dino remains road-registered in Italy and is accompanied by extensive documentation and original accessories, reinforcing its status as a well-preserved example of Ferrari’s storied past. See it here.
