A 1970 Dodge Charger R/T 440 finished in factory EV2 Hemi Orange is drawing bids as it heads to auction from North Salt Lake, Utah. The muscle car, offered from the Hank’s Garage Car Collection, is currently bid to $38,000 with 10 days remaining in the sale. The listing has attracted six bids and more than 3,300 views.

The 1970 model year marked a high point for Dodge’s Charger R/T, combining bold styling with big-block performance. Updated design elements included a distinctive loop grille, sculpted doors and blacked-out trim, giving the coupe a commanding road presence. This example was ordered in Hemi Orange with a black vinyl roof and black Bumblebee tape stripe, a combination that underscored its aggressive character. Inside, charcoal and black vinyl bucket seats and a center console complement the Rallye instrument cluster and woodgrain accents.

Power comes from a 440-cubic-inch Magnum V8 equipped with a four-barrel carburetor and factory rated at 375 horsepower. The engine is paired with a heavy-duty A727 TorqueFlite three-speed automatic transmission and a standard 3.23:1 rear axle. Factory equipment includes the R/T suspension package, power brakes, dual exhaust with chrome tips and a performance hood. Air conditioning was also specified from new, along with N95 evaporator emission controls for its original California delivery to Santa Ana Dodge.

The car retains its factory radio delete configuration, though an aftermarket Pioneer AM/FM unit has been added. The sale includes the original radio delete cover plate, build sheet, service receipts and period Dodge Charger advertisements. Additional items include a jack, spare tire and Utah license plate.

Described as an older refurbishment completed prior to the current owner’s acquisition in 2006, the Charger shows 52,900 miles indicated, noted as true mileage unknown. Known imperfections include paint chips, minor trim issues, older tires and inoperative windshield wipers.

Represented by a Broad Arrow Specialist, the Charger is offered with a clean Utah title as part of the first public sale of vehicles from Hank’s Garage. See it here.
