1967 Iso Grifo GL Series I Is A Marriage Of Italian Style And American Power

Iso Grifo selling at Broad Arrow Group's Amelia Island auction combines beauty with American V8 power…

Giotto Bizzarrini is one of the most famous Italian automotive engineers of all time. His resume is impressive. He worked for Ferrari, helping to develop the legendary 250 GTO. After moving to Lamborghini, he developed the V12 engine that they used until 2010. It should be noted, however, that when he wanted to build a sports car of his own, he looked to America for a bulletproof powerplant. The Iso Grifo was powered by a Chevrolet V8.

This example is powered by a 355 cubic inch V8 engine, it also comes with a fully rebuilt, period-correct 5.4-liter V8 if the new owner wants to return it to factory spec. Backing the engine is the optional ZF five-speed manual transmission - making this one heck of an Italian muscle car. This is one of only 330 produced between 1965 and 1969 and is an award winning example with an impressive pedigree.
