A rock-and-roll piece of British history is heading to the block. Iconic Auctioneers has added a 1978 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow II once owned by Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher to its Iconic Sale at the NEC Classic Motor Show in Birmingham on November 14. It carries an estimate of £25,000 to £30,000.

A Silver Shadow With a Downing Street Guest List
The auction house says the car was at the center of Oasis's biggest years and conveyed Gallagher to the 1997 "Cool Britannia" party at 10 Downing Street, hosted by then-Prime Minister Tony Blair. Iconic's own tagline calls it a "Wonderwall on wheels." The Silver Shadow II is the later, rubber-bumpered evolution of Rolls-Royce's unitary-construction sedan, and a celebrity-owned example with a story like this is a rare find at this price. Rolls-Royce news has a lot of electrification in it lately, as in London's ceremonial 1973 Phantom VI going fully electric, so a traditional V8 Silver Shadow with rock-royalty provenance is a nice counterpoint.
Harry Metcalfe Is Selling His Jaguar Project 8
The other headline entry comes from motoring royalty. Harry Metcalfe, the well-known collector, is offering his 2018 Jaguar XE Project 8 "Bespoke by SVO" directly through the sale, with an estimate of £140,000 to £160,000. The car is finished in Merlin Purple and has been owned from new by Metcalfe, whose involvement with SVO goes back to the Project 8's formative stages. He has told the story of the car, and why he is selling it, in a video on YouTube. For another look at the 592-horsepower sedan, see our coverage of a rare 2019 Jaguar Project 8.

More Standouts in the Iconic Sale
The rest of this week's entries cover a lot of ground, from Italian exotica to British sports cars and American muscle. Estimates are as listed by the auction house.

2008 Lamborghini Murciélago LP640-4 (£200,000 to £225,000). Finished in Verde Picus over Sportivo Black leather, this E-Gear-equipped, UK-supplied, right-hand-drive car is understood to be globally unique in this specification. It has under 20,000 miles and recent marque-specialist servicing. We have also covered another 2008 LP640 that went to auction with a manual conversion.

1960 Mercedes-Benz 190SL (£110,000 to £140,000). Exceptionally rare in right-hand drive, this 190SL is presented in Cement Grey with Burgundy hide and a matching hood, a combination that has earned considerable show success. Here is a 1957 190SL roadster for comparison.

1966 Jaguar E-Type Series I 4.2-Litre Coupé (£60,000 to £70,000). The car has been in the same family ownership for 45 years. Curious how E-Types have been selling across the UK? Here's a Series 2 that opened well below estimate.

1989 Porsche 911 3.2 Carrera Sport (G50) Coupé (£75,000 to £95,000). Late air-cooled 911s remain a collector favorite, and we have followed them closely, including this Arena Red 993 Carrera 4S.

1964 Volkswagen Type 2 (265) Double Cab Pick-up (£50,000 to £60,000).

1971 Maserati Indy 4700 (£30,000 to £40,000). With 19,769 kilometers and one previous owner, this is a low-mileage example of a car we have written about before, in our look at a 1972 Indy.
Also on the list: a 1968 Dodge Charger 6.3L V8 (£50,000 to £60,000), a 1972 TVR Tuscan V6, number 101 of 101 built (£30,000 to £40,000), a 1997 Land Rover Wolf Defender 90 (£25,000 to £30,000), and a 1988 Range Rover 3.5-Litre EFi manual by Wood & Pickett (£20,000 to £25,000). Fans of the British marque can read about the TVR Grantura.
New Motorcycle Entries
Two-wheeled entries are also arriving for the Iconic Motorcycle Sale on November 15: a 2004 MV Agusta F4 1000 AGO (£18,000 to £25,000), a 1992 Honda CBR900RR FireBlade (£8,000 to £12,000), a 2024 Ducati V4S Lamborghini Special Clienti Streetfighter with zero miles (£60,000 to £80,000), a 1934 Harley-Davidson VLD Big Twin (£20,000 to £25,000), a 1928 Henderson De Luxe Four (£50,000 to £60,000), and a 1985 Honda Z50J Gold Limited Monkey Bike (£2,500 to £3,500).
What Else Is on Before the NEC
An online sale is live now with bidding closing on Thursday, October 15 from 7 p.m. UK time. Lots include a 2014 Range Rover Sport 5.0 V8 Supercharged (£20,000 to £24,000), a supercharged 2002 BMW M5 (E39) (£35,000 to £40,000) and a 2018 Mercedes-Benz X250d Double Cab pick-up (£20,000 to £24,000). Entries for the October 29 online sale are open, and the NEC weekend also includes the Classic Sale and the Iconic Motorcycle Sale on November 15.
