This Citron Yella 1971 Dodge Charger R/T Is A 1-of-332 Four-Speed Survivor

Few muscle cars wear their attitude as boldly as a high-impact Mopar, and this 1971 Dodge Charger R/T finished in GY3 Citron Yella is about as loud and as rare as they come. Documented as one of just 332 U-Code four-speed Charger R/Ts built for the model year, it is heading to auction this summer and is currently listed by GAA Classic Cars.

The 1971 redesign gave the Charger its curvaceous, semi-fastback body, and few colors show off those hips better than Citron Yella. This car layers on the visual drama with a blacked-out interior, dual racing mirrors, hood pins, concealed hideaway headlights and a rear spoiler, the kind of period-correct flash that made the third-generation Charger a poster car.

Under the hood sits the heart of the matter: the U-Code 440 Magnum rated at 375 horsepower, fed by a double-pumper Holley carburetor and breathing through an OE manifold with dual exhaust. Backing it is the desirable A833 four-speed manual topped with a pistol-grip shifter, while a 3.54-geared Dana 60 rear differential puts the power to the pavement. A 26-inch radiator helps keep the big-block cool when the revs climb.

Inside, the black bucket-seat cabin is fitted with a center console, a Rallye dash with tachometer and auxiliary gauges, a Tuff steering wheel, an AM push-button radio and rear defog. Power front disc brakes, Rallye wheels and Goodyear Polyglas tires round out a build that looks every bit the part of a proper R/T.

Provenance is a big part of the story here. The car is listed in the MMC Detroit registry, comes with MMC Detroit documentation and includes a decode package by David Wise, plus a correct spare and jack assembly. For collectors who prize numbers, paperwork and rarity in equal measure, that combination is hard to beat.

Wearing lot number ST0096, the Charger crosses the block on Saturday during GAA Classic Cars' July 2026 sale. With a four-speed, the right paperwork and one of the most eye-catching colors Dodge ever offered, this is one survivor that should command plenty of attention when the gavel falls.
