Every so often a Ferrari 488 Spider shows up wearing exactly the spec you would have ordered yourself, and this one is it. A 12,000-mile 2019 example finished in Extra Range Matte Nero over Nero leather is currently live on Bring a Trailer, and with bidding already at $326,000 and only a handful of days left, it is quietly becoming one of the more compelling mid-engine sales of the month.
What makes this car special is not just the paint, though the matte black finish over red-painted calipers and split-spoke 20-inch wheels is a genuinely menacing combination. It is the options sheet. The original buyer went deep, adding roughly $86,000 worth of extras on top of the base car and pushing the window sticker to a hefty $381,765 when it was delivered new through Ferrari of San Antonio in Texas.
A Spec Sheet Worth Studying
Among the highlights are carbon-fiber Daytona-style racing seats trimmed in Nero with Rosso piping and stitching, a carbon-fiber-trimmed steering wheel with shift lights and the familiar manettino dial, Scuderia Ferrari fender shields, a sport exhaust system, and a front-axle suspension lift that makes daily driving far less stressful. There is also a JBL audio system, navigation, front and rear cameras, adaptive xenon headlights, dual-zone climate control, and red seat belts to tie the cabin together.
That combination matters. Buyers chasing 488s in the current market consistently pay up for carbon seats, the lift kit, and the sport exhaust, and finding all three together on a car with low mileage and an unusual factory matte finish is not something that happens every week.
Still One Of Ferrari's Great V8 Engines
Under the rear deck sits the twin-turbocharged 3.9-liter V8 rated from the factory at 661 horsepower and 561 lb-ft of torque, routed to the rear wheels through a seven-speed F1 dual-clutch transaxle. The 488 was the car that convinced skeptics turbocharging would not ruin the mid-engine Ferrari formula, and nearly a decade on it remains one of the most ferociously quick and usable supercars Maranello has built.
Chassis hardware is properly sorted too, with the SCM-E magnetorheological damping system and ceramic-composite brakes at all four corners. Drop the retractable hardtop and the sport exhaust does the rest.
The History Checks Out
The digital odometer reads roughly 12,000 miles, and the car has lived in Texas and South Carolina since new. A clean Carfax report shows no accidents or damage, with service history on file, and the oil was changed back in January 2026. The sale includes the window sticker, the owner's manual, service records, a battery tender, and a South Carolina title, and the car is being offered by a BaT Local Partner dealer.
For a low-mileage, heavily optioned, matte-finished 488 Spider with paperwork to back it up, the bidding still looks like it has room to run. The auction ends September 19.
