Rare 1976 Lincoln Continental Mark IV Givenchy Edition Surfaces for Sale

A highly limited 1976 Lincoln Continental Mark IV Givenchy Edition has emerged for sale, offering a glimpse into a unique era of American luxury defined by bold styling and high-end collaborations. With only 1,573 units originally produced, the Givenchy Edition stands as one of the rarer variants from Lincoln’s Designer Series lineup, and even fewer examples are believed to remain today.

Introduced in 1976, the Designer Series marked a collaboration between Lincoln and prominent names in fashion and design. Alongside the Givenchy Edition, the program included versions associated with Cartier, Emilio Pucci, and Bill Blass. Each variant featured exclusive styling elements intended to elevate the already upscale Continental Mark IV into a more personalized expression of luxury.

The Givenchy Edition distinguished itself through a unique color combination that included Aqua Blue Diamond Fire metallic paint paired with a White Normande Landau vinyl roof. Black and white pinstriping added contrast along the body, while the interior carried a coordinated aqua theme in either leather or velour upholstery. Light birch-toned simulated woodgrain trim further set the cabin apart from other versions of the Mark IV.

Special design elements reinforced the car’s exclusivity. The Givenchy signature was etched into the opera windows, and a 22-karat gold-plated nameplate adorned the dashboard. Additional touches, including matching interior details and standard forged aluminum wheels, helped define the model’s identity within the broader lineup.

Under the hood, the Givenchy Edition shared its mechanical foundation with the rest of the 1976 Mark IV range. Power came from a 460 cubic-inch V8 engine producing 202 horsepower and 352 lb-ft of torque, paired with a three-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels. While not designed for speed, the vehicle emphasized smooth, composed driving.

The example currently offered shows 38,000 miles and includes documentation such as a Deluxe Marti Report, service records, and original literature. It has been refinished in its original color scheme and has received recent maintenance, including updates to the air conditioning system and other mechanical components.

Now located in Scottsdale, Arizona, the car is being offered for sale, highlighting continued collector interest in limited-production luxury vehicles from the 1970s.
