Finished in Wimbledon White over a red interior, the classic muscle car represents one of the most recognizable performance variants produced during the height of the American horsepower era. Identified by its rare Q-code designation, the vehicle is equipped with a 428-cubic-inch Cobra Jet V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission, a combination that remains highly sought after among collectors and enthusiasts.

The Mustang underwent a significant redesign for the 1969 model year, emerging with a larger and more aggressive appearance than earlier versions. The updated design featured a wider stance, distinctive quad headlamps, and more sculpted body lines. Ford also broadened the Mustang lineup, offering a wide range of powertrains that stretched from economical engines to high-performance big-block V8s.

Among those offerings, the Mach 1 quickly established itself as a standout model. Designed exclusively with V8 power, the Mach 1 combined fastback styling with performance-oriented features and visual enhancements that helped distinguish it from other Mustangs on the road.

Powering this example is the Cobra Jet 428 V8, rated at approximately 335 horsepower and 440 pound-feet of torque. The engine sends power to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual gearbox, delivering the traditional muscle car driving experience that helped define the era.

The seller reports that the Mustang is equipped with several notable features, including 16-inch wheels, aftermarket headers, power front disc brakes, a hood scoop, high-back bucket seats, wood interior trim, vinyl upholstery, and an AM radio. The car is also configured without power steering.

During the current ownership, which began in November 2007, the Mustang reportedly underwent a restoration. Work included servicing the engine, inspecting and reinstalling the oil pan and intake components, performing rust repairs, and repainting the exterior. The seller notes that the vehicle received its current paint finish during that restoration process.

Included with the sale are two keys, a window sticker, and an Elite Marti Report documenting the vehicle’s specifications and history.

With its iconic styling, desirable Cobra Jet powertrain, and restoration work already completed, the 1969 Mustang Mach 1 continues to generate interest as the auction approaches its closing date.
