Pixar's most beloved playthings are about to get a serious horsepower upgrade. To mark the arrival of Toy Story 5, Porsche has revealed a trio of one-off 911s, each one shaped around a different character from the franchise: the high-flying Buzz Lightyear, the dependable cowboy Woody, and the spirited cowgirl Jessie. All three will roll out onto the red carpet at the film's premiere, and unlike most show-stopping concept builds, they are actually destined for new homes, with proceeds heading to charity.
The cars were dreamed up and executed by Porsche's Sonderwunsch division, the in-house "special wishes" team responsible for the brand's most personal and bespoke commissions. It is the newest chapter in an ongoing relationship between the automaker and Disney, the studio behind Pixar, and the people involved insist it runs deeper than a flashy promotional stunt. For both companies, the project became a way to explore a shared passion: telling a good story.
According to Pixar production designer Bob Pauley, the challenge was capturing each toy's personality without resorting to literal costume play. The goal, he explained when the collaboration was first teased, was to read these characters through color, material, and shape rather than slapping a cartoon onto a fender. In other words, the cars are meant to feel like the characters, not merely look like them.
Buzz Lightyear: A Track-Ready 911 GT3 RS
Leading the squadron is a 911 GT3 RS built in the spirit of Buzz Lightyear. The hardcore, track-focused machine wears a striking tri-tone livery that nods to the space ranger's famous suit. Inside, the leather-trimmed cabin carries a custom character motif across the dashboard, while Buzz's signature rallying cry, "To Infinity and Beyond," is etched into the door sills. Befitting its no-compromise mission, the car packs the Weissach Package and rides on forged magnesium wheels.
Jessie: A Custom-Hued 911 Targa 4 GTS
Representing the franchise's fearless cowgirl is a 911 Targa 4 GTS. Its centerpiece is a brand-new color called Jessie White Metallic, a shade created to echo the pearl snaps on her trademark western shirt. Cobalt Blue Metallic, Altacama Yellow, and GTS Red accents bring the exterior to life, and the interior layers together bespoke Dark Night Blue, Bordeaux Red, and Pebble Grey leather for a finish that feels every bit as adventurous as the character.
Woody: A Denim-Inspired 911 Carrera T
The most understated of the three belongs to Woody, and fittingly it is a 911 Carrera T, the purist's pick of the modern 911 range. Its exterior blends Golf Blue, Dark Sea Blue, and white to recreate the worn-in look of faded blue jeans. The cabin keeps the rugged, lived-in theme going with vintage brown leather, denim fabric, and a red checkered pattern woven into the seat inlays, an homage to the sheriff's classic ranch-hand wardrobe.
A Charitable Send-Off
The trio is scheduled to make its first public appearance at the world premiere of Toy Story 5, and rather than disappearing into a Porsche museum, these one-offs will be sold privately. A portion of the proceeds is earmarked for Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, the American Red Cross, and the Starlight Children's Foundation. Whether a famous voice from the cast ends up parking one of these in the garage remains to be seen, but the charitable angle gives these collectible 911s a purpose well beyond the red carpet.
