Few movie cars have earned the kind of cult following that Eleanor commands, and now a meticulously built tribute to that legendary 1967 Mustang fastback is rolling through Hagerty Marketplace's auction block. The car, currently listed as the Supercharged 5.2L V8-Powered 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback Eleanor Widebody Limited Edition, has already pulled in serious bidder attention from enthusiasts chasing a certified slice of Hollywood history.
The name Eleanor traces back to the 2000 remake of "Gone in 60 Seconds," where the customized 1967 Shelby GT500 played the role of the one car that always got away from Nicolas Cage's character. That on-screen chemistry spawned a cottage industry of replicas and tributes over the years, along with plenty of legal wrangling over who actually controls the rights to the design. This particular build sidesteps that gray area entirely: it is chassis number four of a planned run of 60 officially licensed Gone in 60 Seconds Eleanor Tribute Editions produced by Ikonic Concepts, timed to arrive for the film's 25th anniversary and built from a genuine 1967 Mustang fastback donor car.
The transformation from stock fastback to widebody Eleanor starts with the sheetmetal itself. Every fender was hand-widened roughly seven inches at the rear to create the flared stance the tribute is known for, then finished in a two-stage Pepper Gray Metallic paint with black Rally stripes running nose to tail. The underside and engine bay were painted to match the body rather than left in bare metal or gloss black, and the car rides on a set of 20-inch Eleanor-style wheels wrapped in Continental performance rubber. App-controlled LED lighting rounds out the exterior theater, including ground-effect projectors that beam the film's logo beneath the doors, plus a back-lit "Gone in 60 Seconds" emblem and a dash-mounted "Go Baby Go" button that nods directly to the movie.
Under that widened hood sits a Ford Racing Predator supercharged 5.2L V8, a crate engine that leaves the factory rated at 760 hp. Here it has been pushed further still, reportedly reaching 882 hp thanks to an OBR engine control pack. Power routes through a TREMEC T-56 six-speed manual gearbox and exits via a 2.5-inch exhaust that dumps out through the side rockers rather than the rear, a detail straight out of the film. A four-link 9-inch rear end with 3.55 gears, adjustable Total Control Products coilovers, and Baer six-piston calipers biting down on slotted and drilled rotors handle putting that power down and reeling it back in, while electronically assisted power steering keeps the widened front end manageable at low speeds.
Inside, the cabin carries the theme through custom logo-embroidered seats with adjustable headrests, a matching fold-down rear seat, and a painted roll bar fitted with a certified four-point harness for track days. Velocity gauges keep tabs on the supercharged V8, a 1,600-watt Bluetooth sound system with front speakers and rear subwoofers handles the audio, and the dashboard itself carries autographs tying the car back to its cinematic namesake. The seller includes genuine Eleanor certification paperwork from Gone in 60 Seconds LLC, a 200-plus photo build book, a framed movie poster, signed photos of Nicolas Cage and Angelina Jolie, an ELEANOR-script reproduction plate, and even a matching custom couch, making this as much a piece of memorabilia as it is a driver's car.
The auction is running without reserve out of Ocala, Florida, and bidding has already climbed to $75,000 across 14 bids as the clock winds down toward a close on July 30.
