When Honda launched the NSX in 1990, it upended assumptions about what an exotic sports car could be. With input from Formula 1 champion Ayrton Senna on chassis tuning and steering feel, the all-aluminum NSX offered supercar performance without sacrificing everyday drivability, and its high-revving V6 gave it a very different character than its Italian and German rivals.
This 1991 example, listed at no reserve on Hagerty Marketplace, pairs the original 3.0-liter V6 with a 5-speed manual and has been extensively modified inside and out. A Marga Hills front-end conversion, carbon-fiber hood and rear wing, aftermarket side skirts, and a staggered set of 18-inch and 19-inch Rays Volk Racing wheels give it a widebody stance, while butterfly-style door hinges and a ceramic coating round out the exterior work.
Inside, fixed Recaro bucket seats, a Momo steering wheel on a quick-release hub, four-point harnesses, and a touchscreen stereo with a rearview camera update the cabin, while the suspension combines a Stanceparts air cup kit up front with KW Variant 2 coilovers at the rear. In late 2021 the car received more than $35,000 in mechanical servicing and recommissioning at a California specialty shop, with invoices included, and it comes with a CARFAX report and a clean California title.
