A Morgan Plus 4 with a genuine slice of rock-and-roll history is about to cross the block. This cream-over-red 1964 roadster spent more than three decades in the care of Woodstock festival producer Michael Lang, and it will sell with no reserve as Lot F88 at Mecum's Harrisburg 2026 sale on Friday, July 24. Lang, who co-created the original 1969 Woodstock festival and went on to produce several of its anniversary follow-ups, bought the Morgan in 1990 and kept it for 35 years. That kind of long-term ownership is increasingly rare in the collector car world, and it shows in the roadster's honest, well-sorted condition. Rather than a garage queen that's been shuffled between owners and restorers, this Plus 4 reads like a car that was actually driven and enjoyed by someone who appreciated its old-school character.
The Plus 4 has always been Morgan at its most traditionally British: a steel ladder chassis wrapped in a hand-formed body mounted to an ash wood frame, a construction method the small Malvern-based manufacturer clung to long after most rivals moved on to unibody designs. This example carries a 2.1-liter inline-four backed by a 4-speed manual, a pairing that favors light weight and simple mechanicals over outright power, which was always the point of a Plus 4.
