A pristine example of Porsche's most muscular 997-generation drop-top has surfaced on Hagerty Marketplace, and it is hard to find a more compelling all-weather sports car than this one. The 44,100-mile 2011 Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet is currently up for auction, with bidding already north of $40,000 and climbing ahead of its September 9 close.
Finished in black over a black leather interior, this 997.2-generation Turbo S represents the final and most potent evolution of the naturally muscular 911 lineup before Porsche moved on to the 991 platform. Under the decklid sits a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six producing 530 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque, sent to all four corners through Porsche's quick-shifting seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission. That combination made the Turbo S Cabriolet one of the fastest-accelerating open-top cars of its era.
The options list reads like a wish list for any Porsche enthusiast, including carbon ceramic brakes, a torque-vectoring limited-slip rear differential, dynamic engine mounts, the Sport Chrono Package with Sport Plus mode and launch control, Porsche Adaptive Suspension Management, and heated and ventilated 12-way power front seats.
