Upgraded 1972 Dodge Charger hits Hagerty Marketplace with fuel injection, restored interior, and classic B-body styling.
A fuel-injected here that blends vintage muscle car styling with modern performance upgrades is now up for grabs on Hagerty Marketplace, offering enthusiasts a rare chance to own a reimagined version of one of Mopar’s most iconic models.

Built on Chrysler’s trusted B-body platform, this third-generation Charger reflects the bold design evolution that defined the early 1970s. Designed by Bill Brownlie’s styling team, the 1972 model carried forward the sleek “fuselage” body lines introduced the previous year—earning high praise from Car and Driver, which called it “the best-styled new car for 1971.”

This particular example is finished in vibrant blue with a contrasting black vinyl roof, capturing the period-correct aesthetic. The black vinyl bucket seat interior remains mostly original, with the seller noting “almost perfect” factory seats and door panels. Recent interior updates include a new dashboard, armrests, package tray, and carpet, along with a modern digital gauge cluster and sound system.
Under the hood, the original 400 cubic-inch big-block V8 has been upgraded with an Edelbrock Sniper electronic fuel-injection system for improved drivability and throttle response. Power is sent through Chrysler’s three-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission. The car rides on aftermarket aluminum wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires, with recent mechanical updates including new fuel lines, a gas tank, and a comprehensive undercoating.

Though the factory air conditioning currently needs a recharge, the Charger is described as mechanically sound and largely restored, with minor paint and interior imperfections that require close inspection to notice.
The seller, who has owned the car since 2013, emphasized that “every bit of rust and decay has been addressed,” calling the car “almost as good as new” after a decade of careful improvements.

With its striking retro looks, upgraded performance, and daily-driveable reliability, this 1972 Dodge Charger offers a compelling blend of classic Mopar DNA and modern enhancements. It’s a muscle-era icon brought into the 21st century—ready for the road, the show field, or both. See it here.
