Produced to commemorate its role as the pace car for the Indianapolis 500, the model represented Pontiac’s introduction of a mid-engine platform to the mainstream market. Approximately 2,000 examples were built for the 1984 model year, making surviving cars increasingly notable among collectors. This edition celebrated the first time a mid-engine car served as the official pace car for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
The Fiero Indy Edition stands apart visually with a combination of white and gray exterior finishes, complemented by model-specific graphics and badging. Design elements include a rear spoiler, pop-up headlamps, and gray lower body cladding. A left-side quarter panel air intake adds to the car’s unique appearance, while quad exhaust outlets further distinguish the rear profile. The package also includes 14-inch alloy wheels finished in white with a red outer stripe, reinforcing the special-edition identity.

This example has been carefully maintained, retaining its original paint and benefiting from recent service items such as new spark plugs and updated fuel and air filters. The vehicle was owned by a single individual until 2023 and has been stored in a climate-controlled environment, contributing to its preserved condition.
