A custom-built 1967 Pontiac Firebird convertible created for the 2014 SEMA Show in Las Vegas represents a blend of classic muscle car heritage and modern performance engineering.
The project was developed by Custom Concepts for Valspar Paint with the goal of showcasing advanced customization and bold design. Built as a dedicated show car, the Firebird received extensive modifications and high-end components throughout the build, reflecting a no-expense-spared approach to craftsmanship.

At the center of the build is a modern LS1 5.7-liter V8 engine paired with a 4L60 automatic transmission. The powertrain upgrade brings contemporary reliability and performance to the vintage Pontiac platform, transforming the classic convertible into a machine capable of delivering modern driving capability while maintaining its original character.
The chassis and suspension were also significantly upgraded to support the enhanced performance. The Firebird rides on a RideTech four-link setup with coil-over shocks designed to improve stability and handling. Four-wheel disc brakes provide modern stopping power, further updating the vehicle’s driving dynamics compared to its original factory configuration.
Visually, the car stands out with a striking Dodge Viper Snake Skin Green paint finish. The bold color was chosen to highlight the Firebird’s sculpted body lines while emphasizing the car’s role as a high-impact show vehicle. Black rims provide a sharp contrast to the vibrant green exterior, creating a modern aesthetic that complements the car’s classic design.
Inside, the convertible features a black interior that maintains a clean and understated look, allowing the exterior color and custom engineering to remain the focal points. The two-door layout preserves the traditional Firebird convertible styling while showcasing the extensive customization completed for the show build.

Although originally produced in 1967, this Firebird reflects a contemporary vision of what a classic American muscle car can become when modern technology and creative design are combined. Built specifically to appear at one of the automotive industry’s most influential events, the car remains a standout example of the custom craftsmanship often displayed at the SEMA Show.
The result is a distinctive showpiece that merges vintage Pontiac styling with modern performance components and a bold visual identity.
