A new wave of street trucks is taking shape, and while Ford and Ram have helped reignite interest in the segment, an independent performance shop may have just stolen the spotlight. Specialty Vehicle Engineering (SVE) has unveiled a 2026 Yenko/SC Silverado engineered to deliver 1,000 horsepower and built with the kind of attitude that defined early 2000s sport trucks—only now dialed far beyond anything factory-built.
Street trucks once filled drag strips, parking lots and magazine covers, but the trend faded as off-road and lifted builds dominated the last decade. Ford’s recent move to revive the segment with the Maverick Lobo and F-150 Lobo signaled an official return, followed quickly by Ram’s concept performance truck shown at SEMA. Both embraced lowered stances and sport-focused dynamics, but neither approached the extremity of SVE’s latest creation.

Under the hood of the Yenko Silverado sits a hand-assembled 6.2-liter aluminum V8 fitted with forged internals, upgraded heads and a high-output supercharger. Buyers can select calibrations for 91- or 93-octane fuel, and power flows through a stainless dual cat-back exhaust. Braking is handled by six-piston Brembo calipers mounted behind 22-inch forged wheels wrapped in Nitto performance rubber.
To keep the truck stable when its four-digit output comes alive, SVE lowered the suspension two inches in front and five inches at the rear. Fox shocks, a heavy-duty sway bar and traction bars help control squat and wheel hop. The most distinctive mechanical feature, however, may be its six-speed manual transmission—an increasingly rare option in modern performance vehicles and unheard of in trucks of this magnitude.
The exterior leans heavily into retro-inspired cues, with side stripes, a cowl hood and Yenko branding across the body. Standard colors include black, Hugger Orange, silver and blue, though custom paints are available for buyers seeking more individuality.
SVE has not announced pricing, but the company’s past limited-production Yenko builds suggest the new Silverado will land deep into six-figure territory. Each truck includes factory-style documentation and a three-year, 36,000-mile limited warranty.
As Ford and Ram cautiously explore the resurrected street-truck niche, SVE’s approach is anything but measured. With a manual gearbox and 1,000 horsepower on tap, the Yenko Silverado positions itself as the loudest and boldest entry in the movement—and a signal that asphalt-focused performance trucks are roaring back with force.
