Magnus Walker to Sell Personal Porsche Collection

RM Sotheby’s has announced a collaboration with noted Porsche collector and designer Magnus Walker for a dedicated auction featuring vehicles and artifacts from his personal collection. Titled The Magnus Walker Collection, the sale is scheduled to take place in late March and will present a wide-ranging selection assembled over several decades.

The auction will center on Porsche automobiles previously owned by Walker, accompanied by an extensive assortment of memorabilia and parts accumulated throughout his long involvement with the brand. While specific lots have not yet been disclosed, the total number of items offered is expected to reach as many as 160, making it one of the most comprehensive offerings tied to a single private Porsche collection in recent years.

Walker’s connection to Porsche began in the early 1990s, when he purchased his first example at age 25. That purchase marked the beginning of a decades-long personal and professional relationship with the marque, eventually shaping his public identity. Over time, what began as a passion developed into a defining element of his career, influencing both his creative work and reputation within automotive culture. The upcoming sale reflects a turning point, as Walker has indicated he is ready to part with some of the vehicles that helped establish his standing in the collector world.

Born in Sheffield, England, in 1967, Walker relocated to Los Angeles during the 1980s. He initially built a career in fashion, founding the clothing brand Serious Clothing, before his focus increasingly shifted toward automobiles. He became widely recognized for his work with classic and customized Porsche 911 models, spanning both air-cooled and water-cooled generations. His activities have included collecting, restoring, and modifying vehicles, contributing to his reputation as one of the most visible Porsche enthusiasts globally.

Beyond Porsche, Walker has also developed ties to TWR through its Jaguar-based Speedcat project, expanding his influence beyond a single marque.

The RM Sotheby’s sale will feature vehicles ranging from early short-wheelbase Porsches to turbocharged models from later decades, as well as front-engined Porsches produced during the 1980s and 1990s. The auction is scheduled to run from March 18 through March 25, with additional details expected closer to the sale date.
