A new high-performance pickup is entering the off-road horsepower battle as Hennessey Performance introduces a heavily upgraded version of the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 ZR2, aiming squarely at segment leaders from Ford and Ram.
The modified truck, known as the Goliath 700, significantly raises the performance ceiling of Chevrolet’s flagship off-road half-ton. While the standard Silverado ZR2 is equipped with a 6.2-liter V8 producing 420 horsepower, that figure has long trailed competitors such as the Ford F-150 Raptor R and Ram 1500 TRX, both of which deliver well over 700 horsepower.
Hennessey’s solution centers on a comprehensive power upgrade. By adding a supercharger system along with supporting components including an intercooler, recalibrated engine management, and a cat-back exhaust, output is increased to a claimed 700 horsepower and 611 pound-feet of torque. The gains represent a substantial jump over the stock configuration and bring the Silverado into direct competition with its high-powered rivals.

Performance improvements extend beyond raw output. The upgraded truck is capable of accelerating to 60 miles per hour in an estimated 4.2 seconds, even while riding on 35-inch off-road tires. The vehicle retains its advanced Multimatic spool-valve dampers but incorporates a revised suspension setup featuring new upper control arms.
Exterior changes reinforce the truck’s more aggressive character. Carbon fiber accents appear on the hood vents and tailgate, while redesigned steel bumpers enhance both durability and approach angles. Additional elements such as integrated LED lighting, a bull bar, and distinct branding further differentiate the model.
Inside, the cabin receives subtle updates, including branded headrests, all-weather floor mats, and a numbered plaque identifying each unit within the limited production run. Hennessey plans to build just 100 examples, each backed by a three-year or 36,000-mile warranty.
The Goliath 700 carries a price of $139,950, placing it above both its stock Silverado counterpart and several of its key competitors, reflecting its exclusivity and performance upgrades.
