A Texas-based performance company is reshaping the competitive landscape of high-performance off-road trucks by introducing a significantly upgraded version of Chevrolet’s Silverado ZR2.
The modified pickup, known as the Hennessey Goliath 700 ZR2, addresses a key shortcoming of the standard Silverado ZR2: its power deficit compared to rivals like the Ford F-150 Raptor R and Ram 1500 TRX. While the stock truck produces 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque from its 6.2-liter V8 engine, the upgraded version dramatically raises those figures.

The transformation centers on the addition of a twin-screw supercharger, paired with an air-to-water intercooler and revised engine management software. Together, these upgrades increase output to 700 horsepower and 611 pound-feet of torque. The result is a substantial performance gain, enabling the truck to accelerate from zero to 60 mph in approximately 4.2 seconds.
Although the upgraded Silverado does not surpass the top-tier outputs of its primary competitors, it narrows the gap significantly. At the same time, it retains distinctive hardware that sets it apart. The truck continues to use Multimatic DSSV shocks, known for their advanced off-road performance, now paired with a reinforced BDS suspension system. The setup includes new upper control arms and accommodates 35-inch tires, enhancing durability and articulation on rough terrain.
Exterior updates further emphasize off-road capability. Redesigned steel bumpers improve approach and departure angles, while additional LED lighting enhances visibility. A functional carbon fiber hood vent aids cooling, and a stainless steel exhaust system amplifies engine sound.

Inside, the truck receives subtle upgrades, including branded headrests, all-weather floor mats, and unique serialized plaques that highlight its limited production status.
Hennessey plans to produce just 100 units of the Goliath 700 ZR2, distributing them through authorized Chevrolet dealers. Pricing begins at $139,950, positioning the truck below some competitors while offering exclusivity and substantial performance gains.
