Ford Unleashes Super Mustang Mach-E for Pikes Peak Assault

Ford returns to Pikes Peak with a wild new Mach-E demonstrator producing 6,125 lbs of downforce and track-ready aggression.

Ford is once again charging up the mountain—literally and figuratively—as it prepares to field its latest electric demonstrator vehicle at the 102nd running of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb on June 22. This year’s contender? A radical, track-focused Mustang Mach-E with more wings than a fighter jet and a name to match: the Super Mustang Mach-E.

Developed with performance at the forefront, this purpose-built Mach-E generates an astonishing 6,125 pounds of downforce, more than any Ford EV demonstrator to date. The vehicle’s exaggerated aerodynamic profile includes a massive front splitter, extended side skirts, and a towering rear wing—all functional, all unapologetically aggressive. From a silhouette that loosely echoes the standard Mach-E to its slammed ride height and flared arches housing Pirelli racing slicks, the Super Mustang is a barely street-recognizable beast.

Romain Dumas, the veteran driver with multiple Pikes Peak records under his belt, will once again handle driving duties. Dumas previously piloted Ford’s SuperVan 4.2 to a second-place overall finish in 2023 and claimed victory in 2024 with the F-150 Lightning SuperTruck. Now, all eyes are on what this next EV entry can accomplish.

While Ford has kept technical specifications under wraps, it’s likely that the Super Mustang Mach-E will rival the 2,000-horsepower output of its predecessors, possibly developed again in partnership with Austrian motorsport engineering firm STARD. If history is any indication, the fusion of extreme power, aerodynamic grip, and Dumas’ mountain mastery could rewrite the EV class leaderboard once again.

Ford’s latest demonstrator continues to push the boundaries of what electric vehicles can achieve in motorsport. On June 22, fans will watch closely as the Super Mustang Mach-E attempts to tame the mountain—and prove the Mustang name still belongs at the peak of performance.
