Ford Expands Mustang Mach-E Lineup With GT California Special and Range Enhancements

Ford is introducing a series of updates to its Mustang Mach-E lineup, highlighted by the debut of a new GT California Special model and a range of enhancements aimed at performance, technology and design.

The new Mustang Mach-E GT California Special draws inspiration from a late-1960s heritage model originally created to recognize the strong sales performance of Mustang vehicles in California. This latest version brings that legacy into the electric era, blending distinct styling cues with the performance-focused identity of the Mach-E.

The GT California Special stands out with unique exterior details, including 20-inch Carbonised Grey wheels featuring exclusive badging accented in a Rave Blue finish. A specially designed hood stripe incorporates layered tones and graphic elements that reflect coastal themes, reinforcing the model’s connection to its West Coast roots.

Inside, the vehicle features performance-oriented seating finished in Navy Pier materials, combining durability with a premium look. Blue and silver accents are integrated throughout the cabin, extending to the center console and steering wheel, creating a cohesive interior design distinct from the rest of the lineup.

Beyond the new special edition, Ford has introduced broader improvements across the Mustang Mach-E range. Premium Extended Range models benefit from updated tires designed to reduce rolling resistance, resulting in increased driving range. Rear-wheel-drive variants now reach up to 615 kilometers on a full charge, while all-wheel-drive models achieve up to 555 kilometers, representing modest gains over previous figures.

Safety and driver assistance technology have also been expanded. Clear Exit Assist is now included as standard, using sensors to monitor approaching cyclists, pedestrians and other road users to help reduce the risk of door-related incidents. Additional features included in the driver assistance package encompass adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation systems, blind spot monitoring and evasive steering support.

The lineup also receives new color options, including Race Red and Adriatic Blue-Green, offering buyers more personalization choices.

Ford’s hands-free driving technology continues to play a role in the Mach-E’s appeal, with BlueCruise capability extending to additional models in the brand’s European lineup starting in mid-2026.

Together, the updates reinforce Ford’s ongoing effort to refine its electric SUV offering while maintaining a connection to the Mustang nameplate’s legacy.
