Show-Ready 1967 Chevrolet Nova SS Packs LS3 Power and Modern Engineering

Frame-off restored 1967 Nova SS blends vintage style with LS3 power, Detroit Speed chassis, and a full custom interior.

A fully restored and heavily modified 1967 Chevrolet Nova SS is turning heads after a no-expense-spared frame-off build was completed earlier this year. With a blend of modern performance upgrades and vintage style, this authentic “118” VIN Super Sport now delivers muscle car attitude with daily-driver refinement.

At the heart of the build is a 6.2-liter LS3 V8 crate engine producing 495 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 4L60E four-speed automatic transmission. Power is routed through a Ford 9-inch rear end with 3.55 gears and a Positraction differential, giving this classic coupe both street manners and track-worthy acceleration.

Underneath, the Nova rides on premium Detroit Speed Engineering hardware, including a DSE front subframe, QUADRAlink rear suspension, mini-tubs, and coilovers on all four corners. Wilwood disc brakes with red calipers and cross-drilled rotors provide stopping power, while power rack-and-pinion steering keeps handling precise.

Visually, the car stuns in Mazda’s Artisan Red Premium paint—a deep, candy-like color that shifts with the light. Subtle custom touches include flush Kindig-it Design door handles and a hidden taillight fuel filler. The stance is aggressive but balanced on 18-inch Rocket Racing wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport rubber.

Inside, a full custom tan leather interior reimagines the Nova’s cabin. Power bucket seats, a bespoke center console, Dakota Digital gauges, Vintage Air climate controls, and a Sony touchscreen with Bluetooth and a rear-view camera make it as functional as it is stylish. Burgundy carpets and LED interior lighting complete the upscale feel.

Professionally built for both show and go, this Nova SS balances brute power with comfort and craftsmanship. It's a muscle car with modern capability—ready to impress from the show field to the street.
