Second-Generation Firebird Formula Is A Rare Bird

You just don't see as many of these cars on the road as others.

The 1980 Pontiac Firebird Formula is a rare bird. Since the year model is after the introduction of the Trans Am’s in 1969, the world was a bit obsessed with the T/As at the time - this was also before the 1977 body style change that would be one of the most iconic looking cars ever made.

However, this is no car that people are going to easily forget. The Formula is a slightly different-looking car than the Trans Am, but always had the V8 power and lots to love. Many prefer Formulas due to their sleeker styling while being able to deliver the same punch as the Trans Ams - this car, in particular, has a lot more punch.

This year model also represents the ending of the second generation, with only one more year made before GM radically redesigned the Firebird with a completely different body. While the third-generation Firebird would go on to find success, it was the second generation that really pushed this nameplate into the mainstream spotlight as a serious pony car.

To make this particular example even sweeter, it came equipped with the Trans Am decal package and has all new brakes, suspension, wheels, and tires. This stunning f-body is being offered by OK Classic Cars classic auction, which is currently being hosted by Proxibid. You can see more pictures and information and then bid on this stunner here.
