A rare 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder equipped with the Weissach Package is drawing attention for its unusual factory specification and advanced hybrid performance technology.

The car is number 381 of the 918 examples produced worldwide and stands out as one of only four delivered to North America without traditional exterior paint. Instead, the vehicle left the factory with its carbon-fiber body exposed. It is also one of just two examples configured with carbon seats trimmed in black Nomex and accented with Acid Green embroidery.
Currently displaying just over 3,000 miles, the hypercar represents one of Porsche’s most ambitious production models, combining a naturally aspirated engine with electric propulsion to deliver performance through an advanced hybrid system.

Power comes from a mid-mounted 4.6-liter double overhead cam V8 paired with two electric motors that drive all four wheels. The combined system works through a seven-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung automatic transmission, allowing the car to distribute power efficiently across the drivetrain. Energy is stored in a 6.8-kWh lithium-ion battery pack, forming the foundation of the vehicle’s hybrid architecture.
The Weissach Package enhances the 918’s performance-focused design with lightweight construction elements and motorsport-inspired features. The car rides on staggered magnesium wheels measuring 20 inches in the front and 21 inches in the rear. Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires sized 265/35 and 325/30 help deliver grip and stability under high-performance driving conditions.

The chassis incorporates Porsche’s adaptive suspension system with a double-wishbone front suspension and a multi-link rear setup. Additional performance systems include rear-axle steering, Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus and electro-mechanical power steering. Braking is handled by carbon-ceramic discs measuring 410 millimeters in the front and 390 millimeters in the rear, paired with distinctive Acid Green six-piston front and four-piston rear brake calipers.
Inside, the cabin continues the lightweight and performance-oriented theme. Carbon seats trimmed in black Nomex feature Acid Green embroidery on the headrests, while matching accents appear on the seatbelts, dashboard and door panels. Carbon-fiber interior trim reinforces the car’s motorsport-inspired design.
Technology features include a Burmester surround sound system, navigation, Bluetooth connectivity and a center console with a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system. A multifunction steering wheel sits ahead of configurable digital gauges displaying speed, engine revolutions, fuel level and battery information.

Drivers can select from five driving modes, including E-Drive for electric operation, two hybrid settings and more aggressive sport and race modes designed to maximize performance.
With its exposed carbon construction, rare factory configuration and advanced hybrid powertrain, this Porsche 918 Spyder represents a distinctive example of one of the most technologically advanced production cars of its era.
