Final-Year 1982 Chevrolet Corvette With T-Tops and Gymkhana Suspension

Well-kept final-year C3 Corvette in black over charcoal leather, featuring Cross-Fire Injection, T-Tops, and rare factory options.

A well-preserved 1982 Chevrolet Corvette, representing the last year of the iconic third-generation (C3) design, is now being offered for sale. With its combination of classic shark styling and early-1980s performance technology, this two-owner coupe highlights a pivotal moment in Corvette history.

The 1982 Corvette marked several firsts and lasts. It was the final C3, a body style introduced in 1968, but also the first Corvette to adopt Cross-Fire Injection. The dual throttle-body system helped the L83 5.7-liter small-block V8 deliver 200 horsepower—a modest figure by today’s standards but an important step toward modern fuel injection. Paired with a 700-R4 four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive, it balanced fuel economy and performance, a necessity in the early 1980s. Production was also fully moved to Bowling Green, Kentucky, transitioning from the historic St. Louis plant.

Finished in Black (19L) with a Charcoal leather interior (182), this Corvette is equipped with several desirable factory options, including removable T-top roof panels (CC1), Gymkhana suspension (FE7) for sharper handling, and six-way power bucket seats (AG9). Other conveniences include power locks, electric sport mirrors, a power antenna, and cruise control.

The car rides on 15x8-inch aluminum wheels (N90) wrapped in new Coker redline tires, while power steering, four-wheel disc brakes, and air conditioning ensure a comfortable driving experience. Its cabin retains original details such as the Delco AM/FM stereo, tilt-telescopic steering wheel, and an 85 mph speedometer—a period hallmark.

While overall condition is strong, minor imperfections include a paint scuff on the passenger wheel well, rocker panel blemishes, and a broken glove box lock (a new replacement is included). A Clean CARFAX Vehicle History Report documents ownership in New Jersey and New York, with the current owner confirming he is only the second custodian since new.

As the final C3, the 1982 Corvette holds a special place in Chevrolet’s sports car lineage, bridging classic styling with the technology that would define the modern Corvette era. See it here.
