Ford only made 38 Skyliners with the E-Code engine option in 1957 and this one has undergone an award-winning restoration.
With over 30 years of experience restoring retractable hardtops, Bill Nolan at Showcase Restorations knew he had to pull out all the stops for this very special 1957 example. On top of being a rare breed of a car, it is just 1-of-38 that Ford equipped with the E-Code dual 4-barrel HiPo engine and it is loaded with a long list of factory options. This includes the factory Selectaire air conditioning, power windows, power seats, and a town & country signal seek radio. Taking all of this into consideration, Nolan proceeded with a restoration that may be one of the best ever performed on a Skyliner.
Every component from the retractable hard top system to the wiring harnesses has been completely rebuilt, serviced, adjusted, and or replaced to meet factory specifications. No expense was spared and a professional concours rotisserie restoration was performed. Nolan’s high attention to detail and his use of mostly New Old Stock components paid off in a big way. Since the restoration concluded just four years ago, the 1957 Ford E-Code Skyliner has amassed a total of ten awards.
Of particular note is the iconic Torch Red and Colonial White exterior and a matching red and white interior that features the correct airweave seats. From the AACA National First Prize Junior award to the Best In Class Concours D-elegance, everyone that judges this car seems to love it. If it is a top of class show car that you are looking for, here’s your chance. This stunning Ford Skyliner is scheduled for Central Pennsylvania’s Auto Auction's 20th Annual Classic & Antique Auction starting on July 16th 2021.
