Conquer The Earth: Arkonik 1990 Land Rover Defender 90 200 TDi

This custom off-roader is ready to rumble.

You’re probably already well aware of the stellar reputation of the Land Rover Defender. Inspired by the Jeeps of WWII, the trail beast has been used around the world by explorers of every stripe. And while there’s quite the variety of aftermarket parts, little can hold a candle to the full experience of this Arkonik 1990 Land Rover Defender 90 200 TDi that’s listed on Bring A Trailer.

Rebuilt and modified by Arkonik in the United Kingdom, this is a left-hand-drive model so you don’t have to deal with the funkiness of sitting on the “wrong” side to drive it. As you can see, the modifications are pretty extensive, plus this truck wears a striking Adventure Edition metallic orange paint to make it really stand out in the great outdoors.

This modified Land Rover is ready to hit the trail while providing you with the necessities and then some. Among the upgrades are 18-inch Kahn Design 1983 wheels, BFGoodrich T/A K02 tires, Warn winch with synthetic rope mounted up front, full-length roof rack, rear ladder, LED lighting, and black anodized trim pieces.

As suggested before, this Defender is no longer using its factory engine. That’s been replaced by a rebuilt 2.5-liter 200TRDi turbodiesel four-cylinder, which is bolted up to a 5-speed manual transmission. There’s also a two-speed transfer case for when the going gets tough on the trail.

You’ll note this Defender rides higher than when it rolled out of the factory. That’s due in part to the 2-inch Terrafirma lift kit. Also included are cellular dynamic dampers, suspension arms with spray-on bedliner finish for durability, plus copper hard lines for the brakes as well as braided hoses.

As for the interior, you get to enjoy quilted black leather upholstery on the seats, proving that even far from home there are luxuries to be had. What’s more, the front seats are heated and the headliner is made of microsuede. Additional sound deadening material has been added, as have alloy door handles/pulls, an Alpine sound system, and air conditioning.

The auction for this Arkonik 1990 Land Rover Defender 90 200 TDi ends on November 25. It’s being sold by Avant Garde in Portland, Oregon along with over 300 other cars being sold by the dealer on Bring A Trailer.
