American Elegance on Display: Pre-War and Post-War Classics Headline Lucky Collector Car Auction’s Spring Classic

From a rare V16 Cadillac to a beloved Chrysler Woodie, American automotive history takes center stage at Lucky’s Spring Classic sale.

An exceptional lineup of American automotive icons will cross the block at the Lucky Collector Car Auctions Spring Classic, with pre-war elegance and post-war luxury on full display. Among the most anticipated offerings are a 1938 Cadillac V-16 Town Car, a 1929 Packard 640 Custom Eight Phaeton, and a 1947 Chrysler Town & Country Convertible, each representing rare, collectible craftsmanship from a golden age of American motoring.

1938 Cadillac Series 90 V-16 Town Car

One of just 11 known to be produced, this black-and-beige V-16 Town Car is more than a luxury automobile—it’s a piece of Hollywood lore. Believed to have once served studio executive Darryl F. Zanuck, the car features Cadillac’s legendary V-16 engine, designed for silent operation and effortless power. With just 315 V-16 cars built in 1938, this example is both historically and mechanically significant.

1931 Cadillac 355A Convertible Coupe

Offered as a CCCA Full Classic, this V8-powered beauty features coachwork by Fleetwood, a rumble seat, and stylish artillery wheels. Formerly part of the Don and Lynette Short Collection, its cream-and-black livery and red leather interior embody Cadillac’s Depression-era resilience and opulence.

1929 Packard 640 Custom Eight Phaeton

Restored by Packard specialist Gene O’Hara and once owned by Clive and Janet Cussler, this unique five-passenger configuration Phaeton is believed to be the only one of its kind. It features a 384ci straight-eight engine, red and black exterior, and detailed woodwork.

1929 Chrysler Series 75 Dual Cowl Phaeton

With only a dozen known survivors, this dual-cowl Series 75 Phaeton is an elegant reminder of Chrysler’s innovation and endurance. Finished in two-tone green, it is powered by a 248ci inline-six—the same engine that propelled Chrysler to a sixth-place finish at Le Mans in 1929.

1947 Chrysler Town & Country “Woodie” Convertible

One of fewer than 8,400 produced between 1946 and 1948, this beautifully maintained convertible features a fluid-drive transmission, green-and-tan interior, and the craftsmanship that defines Chrysler’s postwar luxury peak.

1927 Lincoln Model L Dietrich Convertible Coupe

A rare survivor of just 13 known Dietrich-bodied examples, this early Lincoln combines coachbuilt style with Leland’s innovative V8 engine. Retaining its original 358ci engine and fitted with a golf-club door, this rumble-seat roadster offers unmatched originality and presence.

Lucky Collector Car Auctions’ Spring Classic offers a rare opportunity to acquire some of the most exclusive and historically significant American classics ever built. Whether destined for show fields or private collections, these vehicles continue to define the standard of automotive excellence.
