A 388-Mile 1996 Viper RT/10 Is Selling On Bring A Trailer

Bring home America's favorite sports car.

In a move that has vintage car aficionados buzzing, a practically untouched 1996 Dodge Viper RT/10 has emerged on the market, showing a staggeringly low odometer reading of just 388 miles. Initially registered in Indiana, the car was recently acquired by a Michigan-based selling dealer, marking a rare opportunity for collectors to lay hands on a near-mint example of automotive history.

Outfitted in an elegant Stone White finish accented by dual blue stripes, this Viper boasts both aesthetic charm and engineering prowess. It's powered by an 8.0-liter V10 engine, paired with a six-speed manual Tremec T-56 transmission, and comes factory rated at 415 horsepower. As if to underscore its near-new condition, the car’s battery and fuel pump were recently replaced in preparation for its sale.

Visually, the Viper captures the imagination with its distinct features like the forward-opening clamshell hood and the center-exit dual exhaust outlets. Fog lights come standard, and the car includes both a removable hardtop and a removable soft top, offering a customizable driving experience. While the car is in exceptional condition, it's worth noting that there's a minor scratch on the front valance, a detail that has been meticulously documented in the gallery of photographs accompanying the vehicle's listing.

Wheel enthusiasts will appreciate the 17-inch white-painted five-spoke alloy wheels, mounted with Michelin Pilot SX tires—275/40 in the front and a beefy 335/35 in the rear. The RT/10 variant comes equipped with power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering, four-wheel independent suspension, and four-wheel vented disc brakes, adorned with Viper-branded calipers up front.

Inside, the cabin is an equally compelling space, featuring bucket seats upholstered in black leather, complemented by a matching dashboard, center console, and door panels. While the Viper RT/10 is known for its raw, unfiltered driving experience, this model does come equipped with a few creature comforts like air conditioning and an AM/FM/cassette stereo.

Instrumentation is designed for the driving purist. A three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel sets the stage for a 180-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6k-rpm redline. Auxiliary gauges, conveniently placed atop the center stack, keep the driver informed of essential vehicle metrics such as coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and voltage.

This unique Viper comes with a host of extras including a tonneau cover, zip-up vinyl side windows, a car cover, and even original manufacturer’s literature. All this is backed by an accident-free Carfax report and a clean Michigan title, underscoring the vehicle’s meticulously maintained pedigree.

Given its pristine condition, low mileage, and iconic status among American sports cars, this 1996 Dodge Viper RT/10 isn't just a vehicle—it's a piece of automotive history waiting to be appreciated by its next owner.
