There are a lot of good reasons to drive a Jeep, but one of them usually isn’t for the loads of power. Don’t get us wrong, we love the American off-roaders and their stock engines are usually enough for trail duty, but on the highway they can leave you wishing for a little more. Well, this 2017 Jeep Wrangler being offered through Russo and Steele is packing a 392ci Hemi V8 to cure the horsepower blues. What a time to be alive!
That’s a huge upgrade over the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 this JK rolled out of the factory with and it’s a difference you’ll absolutely feel. It boosts output to a mighty 550-hp, which is almost 300-hp more than the stock engine. This rig should pass on the freeway with ease, plus it has more than enough power for water crossings, sand, and mud.
While front and center is the engine swap on this Jeep Wrangler Sport, there’s more going on than just that. The front and rear both have 4.88:1 gears for plenty of power at low speeds. A 4.5-inch Rubicon Express lift kit increases ground clearance while dual-piston shocks help this rig take hard hits with grace. There’s also Fox steering gear for enduring whatever the trail dishes out.
