Chrysler's Crossfire has never been a car people argue about for the right reasons. It looked odd, it rode hard, and it was built on a Mercedes-Benz SLK platform that Detroit loyalists never quite warmed to. But the SRT-6 was a different animal, and this 40k-mile 2005 Chrysler Crossfire SRT-6 Roadster is live on Bring a Trailer with no reserve and a bid that still sits at $5,000.

The auction ends Monday, November 2, at 1:35 PM ET, so there are still a few days left to get in. As of this writing there are six bids and plenty of room for the price to move.

Hand-Built AMG Power Under a Chrysler Hood

The SRT-6 is the Crossfire the DaimlerChrysler marriage should have built from the start. Under the long hood is a supercharged 3.2-liter SOHC V6 from Mercedes-AMG, the same basic engine that powered the SLK 32 AMG, rated at 330 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. Chrysler's own SRT group added bigger brakes, a stiffer and lower suspension, staggered 18- and 19-inch wheels, and a fixed rear wing.

Period testing put the 0-60 run at about five seconds, with a top speed around 158 mph. That was properly quick for 2005, and it still holds up as a back-road weapon today. The catch, and it is a real one, is that the SRT-6 only came with a five-speed automatic. There was no manual option, which kept some enthusiasts away then and probably keeps prices soft now.

Rare, Cheap, and Almost Completely Forgotten

The SRT-6 ran for just two model years, 2005 and 2006, and the roadster was the rarer body style. Our earlier coverage of a pair of Crossfire SRT6s headed to online auction noted just 1,252 roadsters were built, compared to 2,419 coupes. Nobody lines up for these, which is exactly the point. If you like the kind of oddball Chrysler products we have covered before, such as the Chrysler TC by Maserati, the Crossfire SRT-6 sits comfortably in the same club: a quirky, cross-company experiment that never found its audience.

It also fits a larger pattern. Just as the Cadillac CT6-V Blackwing turned out to be a brilliant car few people noticed, the SRT-6 was fast, interesting, and ignored while new.

About This Roadster

This example was delivered new to Royal Oaks Chrysler in St. Peters, Missouri, and the window sticker is included. It lists a total price of $50,095, a reminder of how much the SRT-6 once cost compared with what bidders are paying now. The car is finished in Black Clearcoat over Dark Slate Gray leather and Alcantara, with SRT-6 logos embroidered into the headrests, heated power-adjustable seats, an Infinity sound system, and a power soft top that stows beneath a body-color boot.

The odometer shows 40k miles, roughly 500 of which were added by the current owner, who bought the car in 2025. The seller reports that the intercooler has been replaced, and the listing notes 22 service history records and five previous owners. The Missouri title is in the seller's name and shows the mileage as exempt.

There is one thing to know before bidding. The Carfax report shows an accident in a November 2007 entry, and the listing's comment section already includes some chatter about cosmetic wear, so a close look through the photo gallery and a conversation with the seller are worth your time.

Why This One Is Worth Watching

Supercharged AMG power, open-top motoring, a rare body style, and a no-reserve auction add up to one of the more intriguing under-the-radar performance bargains on the market this week. The Crossfire SRT-6 may never become a blue-chip collectible, but it is a legitimately fast, genuinely unusual piece of early-2000s Detroit-meets-Stuttgart history, and it is selling to the highest bidder with the clock running.
