A rare 1981 Porsche 936 Junior “Jules” gas-powered go-kart is drawing attention at a no-reserve auction featuring the estate of renowned Porsche Master Mechanic David Glenn. The miniature racer, modeled after the 1981 Le Mans–winning 936/81 “Jules,” is currently bid to $1,000 with 33 days remaining in the sale, hosted through Broad Arrow Auctions in Savannah, Georgia.

Offered from Glenn’s extensive personal collection, the 936 Junior represents one of the most detailed and mechanically sophisticated factory-licensed Porsche replicas ever produced. Built under authorization from Porsche Lizenz- und Handelsgesellschaft in Stuttgart, the half-scale car is powered by a 206cc Briggs & Stratton four-stroke engine paired with a three-speed manual gearbox, complete with rack-and-pinion steering, hydraulic suspension, and disc brakes. The model also includes functional headlights and taillights, echoing the engineering precision of its full-scale counterpart.

Finished in authentic “Jules” livery, the go-kart remains in visually appealing but unrestored condition, showing minor body cracks and requiring recommissioning after years of storage. Despite those needs, its combination of craftsmanship, rarity, and motorsport heritage make it a standout among the 70-plus items offered from Glenn’s estate.

The broader sale includes a diverse mix of Porsche vehicles, engines, gearboxes, tools, workshop equipment, and memorabilia accumulated over Glenn’s five-decade career. Known for his pivotal role in RUF’s Yellowbird engine program and long tenure with Porsche Motorsport North America, Glenn’s reputation for precision and authenticity is reflected throughout the collection.
