Lola Revives Iconic T70 With Limited-Run Continuation Supercar

British automotive manufacturer Lola is making a notable return to car production with a modern reinterpretation of one of its most celebrated models. The company has unveiled plans for a continuation version of the iconic T70, a vehicle that originally defined an era of racing performance in the 1960s.

Founded in the 1950s, Lola built a strong reputation in motorsports before ceasing operations in the early 2010s. After reemerging in 2024 with a renewed focus on racing initiatives, the brand is now expanding its comeback with road and track vehicles aimed at enthusiasts. The revived T70 represents a bridge between the company’s historic legacy and its future ambitions.

The new model is being developed using the original design blueprints from the 1960s, while incorporating modern engineering and technology. This approach allows Lola to preserve the spirit of the original car while improving usability, safety, and performance for contemporary drivers.

Two versions of the T70 continuation model will be offered. The T70S Racer is a track-focused variant designed for maximum performance, featuring racing-specific elements such as roll cages and harness mounts. The T70S GT, by contrast, is intended for road use and includes a more versatile transmission system capable of operating in both manual and sequential modes.

Powering the new T70 lineup are V8 engines sourced from Chevrolet, marking a blend of British design with American performance. The track-oriented T70S Racer will use a 5.0-liter V8 producing 530 horsepower, while the road-going T70S GT will feature a larger 6.2-liter V8 generating 500 horsepower. Despite differences in configuration, both versions are expected to deliver high levels of performance, including acceleration from 0 to 60 miles per hour in roughly two to three seconds and top speeds exceeding 200 miles per hour.

Production will be extremely limited, with only 16 units planned. While pricing has not been officially announced, the exclusivity and performance of the model suggest it will command a premium figure.

The revival of the T70 signals Lola’s intent to reestablish itself in the world of high-performance vehicles, drawing on its heritage while adapting to modern expectations.
