Caroll Shelby, possibly one of America’s most iconic persons in the automotive community. He spent his life creating some of the coolest and most powerful automobiles within the industry. For example, the success of the Mustang could be, in large part, attributed to the Shelby American company who was tasked with turning what Carroll once described as “a mule” into a racehorse. That energy continued through his career up until he died in 2012.
Ever since then, Shelby American has made it their goal to keep his dream alive and today they produce some truly insane cars. However, this legacy is not only left to the cars of today as shown through this particular vehicle.
In case you haven't guessed, this is a 2017 Ford Shelby F-150. Of course, one of the most interesting parts of the Ford and Shelby production is their engine work. Somehow they've been able to manage to squeeze a hell of a lot of horsepower from a tiny 5.0-liter V8. While other, larger, engines may struggle to put out 400 or 500 horsepower this motor can push a whopping 750 horsepower via the use of a supercharger. While many like to focus on the various performance and offroad adventures of the Raptor, the real powerhouse seems to be the Shelby F-150.
The craziest part of this automobile is not the fact that it has 750 horsepower, nor is it that it comes equipped with the trailer and tow package, or the sick black 18" Shelby Engraved Alloy Wheels. The thing that makes this amazing is simply that it is a truck. Cars are expected to be ridiculously powerful from time to time but no one expects something like this and we think that that's just perfect. When you pull up next to a truck at the track you're not expecting to be blown away by all of that power. The true surprise comes from the guy who can back up those racing stripes and Shelby badging with the insane power of something like this.
