1955 Chevrolet 3100 Pickup Draws Bids in No-Reserve Georgia Auction

A heavily modified 1955 Chevrolet 3100 pickup is gaining traction among bidders as it heads toward a no-reserve auction close later this month. Located in Marietta, Georgia, the truck has already attracted multiple bids and thousands of views, reflecting continued interest in classic American pickups with custom upgrades.

The 1955 model year marked a significant shift for Chevrolet’s truck lineup, introducing the Task Force series with updated styling and improved comfort. The redesign replaced the earlier Advance-Design generation, bringing a wider grille, wraparound windshield, and a more refined interior. It also marked the availability of a V8 engine option, signaling a broader appeal beyond purely utilitarian use.

This particular example has been extensively modified, with work completed in 2015 after being commissioned by the seller’s father. Under the hood, the truck now features a rebuilt 350 cubic inch V8 paired with an automatic transmission, moving away from its original factory configuration. Additional upgrades include an aluminum radiator and various mechanical and interior enhancements.

Visually, the truck stands out with a custom lime green paint finish accented by yellow airbrushed artwork. It rides on chrome six-spoke wheels and incorporates styling elements such as a sun visor and taillights sourced from a 1959 Cadillac. Inside, the cabin has been modernized with black upholstery, aftermarket seating, air conditioning, updated gauges, and a contemporary audio system.

While the truck presents as a distinctive custom build, it does show signs of wear. The listing notes imperfections including paint chips, rust in several areas, and some functional issues such as a misaligned driver’s door and an inaccurate speedometer. The wood bed flooring has been replaced but also shows wear, and minor mechanical concerns such as a battery drain are reported.

The truck carries a conditional Georgia title and has been in the current owner’s possession since 2020. With bidding active and no reserve in place, the final sale price will ultimately be determined by market demand as the auction approaches its closing date. See it here.
