GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this immaculate 1996 Chevy Impala Super Sport. This stunning example comes in a clean black paint job complimented by an immaculate gray interior. Powering this beauty is a GM LT1 350ci V8 motor mated to a 4-speed 4L60E automatic transmission. Warning ! This one is NOT your average Impala SS ! This one has been treated to several professionally installed upgrades. Upgrades to name a few include Edelbrock headers, 2 1⁄2 inch cat-back dual exhaust , an upgraded hydraulic roller COMP cam, COMP cams Pro Magnum 1.6 full roller rocker arms K&N filter , 3.73 rear gears to replace the stock 3.08, Hyper tech programmer, Energy suspension full polyurethane body mount kit and more. These upgrades have in no way affected regular drivability, reliability or emissions compliance of this car so feel free to drive all day with the ice cold AC on and enjoy ! Standard features include 4 wheel power disc brakes, power steering, power locks, power driver seat, working heat, A/C and much more. This Impala SS was ordered in black , with optional CD player (as opposed to standard tape deck) and also optional power passenger seat (as opposed to non power) .No expense has ever been spared on the maintenance of this car and it is worth noting in 2018 this car received a professionally installed brand new AC compressor , brand new water pump and brand new fuel pump. The AC is ice cold ! This Impala stands out from the rest and short of a supercharged or turbo Impala this is one of the faster Impalas SS that you will find. Still need another reason why this Impala stands out from others ? Just take a close look underneath at floors and frame. Impalas this clean underneath are difficult to find and often cost much more. The Chevy Impala has always been a standard for cool through out the generations. This '96 is no exception. The Impala SS brought a performance aspect to the family sedan and Chevrolet garnered street cred by stuffing a Corvette-based LT1 5.7L V8 under the hood. From a mechanical standpoint, it used the Caprice 9C1 police package as its base and got most of its equipment that was previously only available to law enforcement & government agencies. This included a sport-tuned suspension with reinforced shocks & springs, a high-capacity reverse flow cooling system, larger four-wheel disc brakes, limited slip differential, transmission cooler, dual exhaust, and a higher output electrical system. To make it stand out as not the typical Caprice, Chevrolet added slick 17” alloy wheels, suppressed “Impala SS” scripts on the rear quarter panels, and three distinct colors which varied over the three years the SS was produced.
