2dr Carbriolet 4-Spd Turbo
*Factory M505 Slope nose model
Sonderwunschprogramm, was Porsche's –Special Wishes program, a program. The program let a client have a car built to their imagination. In the 1980 the car clients wanted was a street version of the 935 racecar.
The extraordinarily successful 935 looked like a 911 on steroids except it had a flat front end for improved aerodynamics. The Germans called it a Flachbau front end, in the US It was called a slant nose. It was impractical to build a street version of the 935 but building a 935 inspired 911 was certainly possible
The $29,000+ M505 option was the answer. The option included sloped front fenders, retractable headlamps and air vents to the rear for brake and engine cooling. The option was only available on the turbocharged 911. Very few were built and they are among the most sought after of all Porsches.
Our Flachbau 911 cabriolet came to us from a Miami collector along with his 1989 Speedster and his 1994 Porsche Speedster.
The owner was a serious enthusiast. He would show his cars but they were not trailer queens. He used his cars regularly, driving them around town and on trips as well as shipping them across the country for vintage events.
This car has been no cost maintained. Whatever it needed it got. The engine and transmission have been freshly rebuilt. The paint is fresh as is the interior. We couldn't find anything the car needed.
