Seven Hills Motorcars is glad to offer this beautiful 1968 Corvette Convertible in nice driver condition with only 67,250 original miles. This Corvette looks good, runs great, and is an excellent driver. It is totally solid with great lines and no rust issues. It is very difficult to find a decent C3 Corvette convertible for any amount under $20,000, let along an example that runs and drives as well as this car. We are offering an excellent opportunity to own a very desirable Corvette model at an unbeatable value. The market on C3 "chrome bumper" Corvettes from 1968 to 1972 is absolutely red hot right now and on the rise; one could easily buy this car now and sell it for more than the purchase price in years to come. The low original mileage is verified not only by the condition of the car, but also the clear Ohio title showing the mileage as "Actual." Please peruse all of the photos, video, and information below to get a true sense of how nice and clean this Corvette really is.As a side note, this Corvette is not a dealer auction vehicle. We hand pick each car after careful inspection. Our Corvettes come from owners who expect their car to go to someone that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did. We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each picture. We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel confident about your purchase. If you have a question about the Corvette, just give us a call.ExteriorThe Hugger Orange exterior is in decent driver condition. As one can see in the photos the finish has a nice gloss. The turbine aluminum wheels have a good finish and no curb rash. The Good year Eagle GT II tires have about 80% tread left and are correctly sized 225/70R15. The soft top is good condition with no rips or holes. As with many C3 convertibles the top can be finicky to unlatch. There are no major blemishes that have been excluded from the photos. As one can see in the photos there are small imperfections and touch-ups around the car and it would be best for any perspective buyer to look at the car in person to get the best idea of what the paint actually looks like. As one can see in the many photos of the underside of the car, it is clean underneath and this Corvette has no rust issues. We have included specific photos of the areas most prone to rust. The frame is totally solid with no rust around the "key hole" are in front of the rear tire and I have seen no evidence of corrosion around the windshield, which are the two most notorious spots for rust on a C3 Corvette.Interior The Black interior in this Stingray is in wonderful condition. The seats are in excellent shape with no split seams, rips, or excessive wear. The carpet is also in fantastic condition with no holes, rips, or major stains. This includes the rear carpet, which is often neglected. The gauge faces are crisp and clean and the lenses are clear. The door panels are in terrific shape; there are no cracks in the typical spot where the driver's elbow sits. The door pulls are solid and intact. The dash and console look great with no cracks or sun fading. This Corvette has never been smoked in; there are no burns marks and no aroma of cigarettes at all.MechanicalThis Corvette seems to be in good mechanical condition. It starts right away every time, runs well, and idles smooth. It drives nice and feels good on the road and at highway speeds. In the video below one can observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about 70mph, shifting through all the gears, braking to stoplight, and going through some curves. Please note that there are no strange noises and the car performs quite well overall with a bit of a floating feeling. The brakes are responsive and do not pull to one side or the other. The transmission shift well, the shifter is tight, does not pop out of gear, and the clutch feels good. Also, the engine compartment is beautifully clean and detailed. The horn works as do all the lights, wipers, radio, dash lights, and indicators. The blower for the heater works on all speeds. The entire vacuum system for the headlights and wiper door works correctly from both their respective switches on the dash and the override switches. They go up quickly, evenly, and with no binding in the mechanism. The entire operation from both switches can be viewed in the video. All of the gauges work and even the clock runs. Some of the fiber optics work. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car, especially with the top down on a beautiful day.A note on the fiber optic light monitoring system. We consistently receive many questions about the purpose of this system; exactly what it is and what it does. The sole and main idea behind the fiber optic light monitoring system is to simply confirm that all of the exterior lights, headlights, indicators, tail lights, etc., are working and to make the driver aware of a a burned out bulb. Each lamp on the outside of the car has an actual fiber optic cable the runs to an indicator on the center console. There are nine small indicators on the console and each has its own finer optic cable. When the bulb goes on the light travels through the fiber optic cable and illuminates the corresponding indicator on the console. If someone does not remember to plug the cable end into the lamp housing, does any work to the center console, or if there is a break in a connection or anywhere along the cable, that indicator no longer works. As one can image, over time this is very common.Overall Condition Overall, this 1968 Corvette convertible is in nice driver condition. The car could be a show car and really taken to the next level with a basic paint-job. Convertible examples in this year range are draw a large premium over a standard Coupe. This Corvette is a great value and we have it priced to sell. In my opinion and based on our experience the "Chrome Bumper" cars from 1968-1972 are the most collectible and hottest in the entire Corvette market right now. The value of these cars has gone up exponentially in recent years. They are all solid investments for a collector. While this is not an NCRS Top Flight or Bloomington Gold car, it is a very nice driver quality Corvette and a great car for the money. We have the car the priced with its cosmetic needs in mind. One could easily enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than the purchase price with minimal effort.Thank you for looking and please do not hesitate to email or call with any questions.
